In the second day of ROBIN Project Final Event (May 14th), the European Rural Circular Bioeconomy Conference, featured a dynamic Train-the-Trainer Workshop under the theme “Scaling the Bioeconomy Through ROBIN’s Toolbox, Policies, and Strategies”, held at Comet Louise in Brussels. This interactive hybrid workshop brought together stakeholders from across Europe to delve into effective governance models, policy frameworks, and explore strategic tools aimed at fostering sustainable rural bioeconomy.

The main focus of the session was the design, analysis, and implementation of governance models tailored for rural bioeconomy development. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and practical exercises exploring how ROBIN’s Toolbox can be leveraged to enhance regional capacity, build resilience, and promote circular economic practices tailored in local needs.

One of the workshop’s key highlights was a panel of regional representatives, who shared firsthand experiences and lessons learned from piloting ROBIN’s methodologies. These valuable insights and success stories were presented by stakeholders from:

  • Andalusia (Spain)
  • Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
  • Central Macedonia (Greece)
  • Southern Region (Ireland)
  • Zilina (Slovakia)

Their contributions underscored the importance of strategies, cross-regional collaboration, and the value of a shared platform for knowledge exchange in scaling up circular bioeconomy initiatives. As Europe continues its transformative journey into a more sustainable and inclusive rural landscape, such knowledge-sharing events are crucial and insightful in ensuring long-term policy alignment and practical uptake.

Earlier this morning, the Final Project Meeting of the ROBIN Project brought together all consortium partners for a dynamic and interactive session marking the 36 months of dedicated collaboration. The gathering served as a moment of collective reflection –celebrating achievements and milestones, and addressing challenges that have shaped the project’s journey. Each partner presented key highlights from their contributions, providing insightful information about their work and the progress made since ROBIN’s inception. The meeting underscored the shared vision that has driven the project forward which is to empower rural regions through inclusive, sustainable, and resilient bioeconomic development.
