Following the finalisation of the co-creation workshop series in each regional node, Task 2.1’s main findings focused on co-creating regional governance models and practices for the circular bioeconomy. The goal of the workshops was to actively involve various stakeholders, including the members of the Multi-Actor Regional Constellations (MARCs) while the co-creation activities were built upon the outcomes of ROBIN’s WP 1, specifically the Typology of Circular Bioeconomy Governance Models (D1.1.) and its Governance Models Typology Matrix, as well as the Good Governance Practices (D1.2.).

Each ROBIN region organized a co-creation workshop which consisted of two sessions: the first focused on validating and prioritizing key barriers, potentialities, and opportunities, while the second involved defining improvement areas for current governance models and co-creating new ones.

To facilitate the co-creation process, ROBIN partners deployed and designed the Regional Circular Bioeconomy Governance Model Framework (RCBGMF) and the Circular Bioeconomy Governance Model Canvas (CBGMC) to be used during the workshops. In each workshop a value proposition has been selected to build a dedicated governance business model based on the CBGMG per region (a total of 5), and more than 50 activities identified in total (51), to feed the regional Support Action Plans to be performed in T2.2., including social measures aligned with the social benefits identified per regional value proposition.

All the work performed at the regional level followed a two-fold approach:

  • Observing common and agreed on general indications to guarantee that the workshops‘ main objectives were reached,
  • Adapting the content and co-creation experience to each region’s maturity level and specific needs (including information about the regional situation framework, resource availably and SWOT analysis)

According to participant satisfaction surveys, the workshops received positive evaluations across all categories.
