The European Rural Circular Bioeconomy Conference will take place on May 13th and 14th at Comet Louise in Brussels, Belgium. The event is a collaborative effort of six Horizon Europe projects: ROBIN, MainstreamBIO, SCALE-UP, BioRural, BIOMODEL4REGIONS, and RuralBioUP. All of these projects are members of the Rural Bioeconomy Alliance. This conference will also serve as the final event of the ROBIN project, which is expected to complete in August 2025. The conference’s goal is to promote and drive innovation, policy recommendations, and real-world applications of bioeconomy across Europe.

Key stakeholders from local communities, policymaking, industry, and rural communities will come together and connect to discuss the approaches and strategies implemented by the projects. They will explore the tools developed through these initiatives and share success stories from their regions. These stories highlight efforts shaping a more sustainable and resilient rural bioeconomy.

Specifically, the event will begin with remarkable speeches including representatives of the Biobased Industries Consortium, who will provide insights into the business perspective of the bioeconomy.

A panel discussion will feature representatives from each project, along with members of the bioeconomy network, who will explore and discuss their diverse perspectives on the bioeconomy. This will be followed by an engaging session presenting practical tools to empower local communities, businesses, and policymakers to integrate bio-based solutions into their regions. The third panel will focus on real-world success stories, where participants will gain inspiration from initiatives that are already making an impact.

On the second day, the focus will shift toward shaping the future, uniting policymakers, industry leaders, and rural actors to translate knowledge into action. High-level discussions, hands-on training, and collaborative policy recommendations will equip participants with the strategies needed to scale sustainable solutions and drive meaningful change.

This two-day conference promises to educate, inspire, and motivate people from across Europe to adopt the best bioeconomy practices in their respective regions.
