CAP and IFAPA, ROBIN’s partners, participated in the conference held on 15 May at the headquarters of the Science and Technology Park in Almeria (Andalusia, Spain) where experts, researchers and industry leaders addressed the challenges and opportunities of the bioeconomy in Andalusia and Spain.

Mar Cátedra, Technical Advisor of the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Agriculture, explained the great potential of the production of various biomass resources in the Andalusian rural areas, as well as the regional policies for the development of the circular bioeconomy. She also gave the example of the Robin project and its governance models based on territorial approaches and strategies for the involvement of all actors in the value chain from the public, private, academic and scientific sectors, and civil society.

In the exhibition area, there were several projects linked to the bioeconomy of the Andalusian territory, promoted by various Andalusian public and private entities. From IFAPA, Samir Sayadi, the Coordinating Researcher, displayed posters detailing the IFAPA’s contribution through the current research, experimentation, training and transfer projects on circular bioeconomy issues.

ROBIN’s Andalusian partners presented in general the ROBIN project and its tools which are dedicated to helping European regions take advantage of social innovation techniques and adapt their governance structures with the aim of boosting the circular bioeconomy.
