The workshop opened with welcoming remarks from representatives of the European Commission, including officials from DG RTD, who shared valuable insights into CCRI’s progress, challenges, and vision for the future.
The morning sessions focused on transforming circular solutions into investment opportunities. Presentations highlighted ongoing CCRI projects and initiatives that are already driving significant impacts in the circular bioeconomy. That was interesting!
Following the morning session, thematic working groups were organised to analyse deeper specific topics. Our team engaged in the circular bioeconomy and circular resource management groups, where speakers delivered presentations on investment opportunities coming from the EIB, ERBD, ECBF, Banca Intesa and the (future) Defossilisation Development Fund. Additionally, initiatives like the EIB Circular City Center (EIB C3), and Green Assist shared their expertise, providing practical guidance and answering participants’ questions during an open Q&A session.
The workshop also featured updates from CCRI’s project development assistance facilities, HOOP and BIOBOOST showcasing their achievements. The audience seized the opportunity to network with representatives from other CCRI projects, enhancing knowledge exchange among stakeholders in the circular economy ecosystem.
ROBIN project team’s participation in this workshop reaffirmed its commitment to advancing circular systemic solutions and contributing to the CCRI’s goals. By engaging with other stakeholders and leveraging other projects’ insights, the team is prepared to continue its work with inspiration and new knowledge while deploying circular bioeconomies at regional level with a territorial approach.
