The BIOTRANSFORM project – Circular BIOeconomy TRANSFORMation for regions by enabling resource and governance networks (2022-2025), ROBIN’s sister project, is hosting its 2nd working group, focusing on “Tools and methodologies for the regional transition to circular bioeconomy” on 29 April 2024.
The main goal is to present developed methodologies and tools to regional authorities and gather feedback to ensure they align with actual needs.
The 2nd WG meeting will be a useful feedback moment for the BIOTRANSFORM project and will allow further improvement of current methodologies and tools under development such as:
- Impact Assessment Tool (IAT): Developed by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), this tool evaluates environmental, economic, and social indicators to assess the sustainability implications of transition pathways. It helps identify optimal bio-economy scenarios aligned with regional sustainability goals, aiding policymakers in decision-making.
- Methodology for co-defining and co-implementing transition pathways: Developed by Alchemia Nova, this methodology involves local stakeholders in evaluating regional pathways to circular bioeconomy transition. It aims for an inclusive approach, focusing on stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and collaborative solution development.
- Financing solutions: ACR+ is reviewing existing financing tools for circular bioeconomy, including grants, funds, and investments. Once the optimal transition pathway is chosen, suitable funding solutions are necessary for its implementation.
Overall, the meeting serves as a feedback opportunity for the BIOTRANSFORM project to refine its methodologies and tools, ensuring they effectively support the regional transition to circular bioeconomy.
